The Matakana Coast Wine Country Region has everything to excite the five senses.
Our web site provides a wide range of information on activities, events, and services from our regional Business and Community Groups. Locals and visitors alike, can read, see, interact, plan, experience and enjoy what Matakana Coast Wine Country has to offer.
Matakana Coast Wine Country describes the Region located between Puhoi and Pakiri - just one hour north of Auckland. It is also the brand under which the Region is promoted through its regional tourism organization – Matakana Coast Tourism.
Matakana Coast Tourism is a not-for-profit incorporated society which was formed as a result of research undertaken in 2010 by New Zealand Tourism Research Institute (NZTRI). The research was jointly funded by Rodney Local Board and a number of community and business groups including Leigh Business Community, Matakana Coast Wine Country, Matakana Country Park, Matakana Village, Matakana Winegrowers, Puhoi Business Association, Warkworth Information Centre and the Warkworth Area Business Association.
This research led to the production of a five year Visitor Strategy for the Puhoi to Pakiri Region now known as Matakana Coast Wine Country. Matakana Coast Tourism is in the process of implementing the Visitor Strategy and now represents eight Tourism and Business Groups across the Region. Links to our Member Groups are at the footer of each page of our web site.
Our aim is to add value to our local communities through growing the number of domestic and international visitors to the Region, have them enjoy the wide range of activities, events, services and facilities we have to offer and have them stay longer, spend more and come back to see us again. We hope that our web site helps you with your search for information on Matakana Coast Wine Country and please email us at: firstname.lastname@example.org for more information or opportunities to contribute content and support Matakana Coast Tourism.
