Matakana - home to the Farmers Market and Boutique shopping
Matakana Village is well known for the Saturday morning Matakana Village Farmer's Market - here you can buy organic local produce fresh, Mahurangi oysters, locally farmed buffalo cheeses, Matakana Olive Oil, and of course the market's own coffee roasted and ground on the spot. Matakana Village also provides a boutique shopping experience and a number of excellent Matakana restaurants and cafes, such as the newly refurbished Matakana Village Pub.
While in Matakana you can also enjoy a movie at the award-winning 3-screen Matakana Cinemas - each cinema is different, with delightfully eclectic furnishings or visit the iconic Morris and James pottery and cafe, who are famous for hand-made pots, plates and wall art or just outside of the Village the Matakana Country Park. Matakana Country Park offers a variety of options for all ages - a small petting zoo, exceptional playground & mini train rides for the children, great dining options at the The Stables Matakana, Smiths Bar and Brambles Cafe, Art Matakana, the Craft Shop, purpose built gym with classes every day and onsite Goldsmith for the adults.
Stay a while with a wide range of Matakana accommodation available from luxury 5 star accommodation, B&B's, Motels, or holiday houses. For further information:
