The Brick Bay Sculpture Trail near Matakana showcases contemporary New Zealand sculpture by established and emerging artists. Experience sculpture in a unique landscape framed by towering native trees and majestic palms, abundant birdlife, green pastures and overlooking the celebrated Brick Bay vineyard. We run trips through the year, weather permitting.
Our most popular trip is the 45 minute "Round the Island" trip which takes you to the big caves. Mahurangi Regional Park

This park protects several bays and coastal features about the mouth of the historic Mahurangi Harbour, and occupies parts of three peninsulas.

Mahurangi West Regional Park begins across the Puhoi River, north of Wenderholm, and extends along Te Muri Beach to Sullivan Bay and Meter Bay - accessible only off State Highway 1 (north of Wenderholm) via the Pukapuka Mahurangi West Road. It is farmed but feel free to wander.

Campsites are available.

Scott's Landing is on the East Mahurangi Road, off State Highway 1 at Warkworth, and includes the historic Scott Homestead.

Mahurangi East is accessible only by boat.

A major volunteer revegetation programme is underway on this beautiful peninsula.

Tawharanui Regional Park

This farm park is the northernmost coastal park and lies astride the Takatu Peninsula, which juts out into the Hauraki Gulf. Pastures fall away to rugged reefs, shingled bays and white sand beaches.

A unique feature on the northern coast is an offshore marine park which protects all marine life.

Farm trails and a specially signposted ecology trail provide an invitation to walk the coastline and forest, and take in the spectacular views.

Access is via State Highway 1, Leigh Road and Matakana. The last 8km of road is unsealed, so caution is required.

Camping is by permit only and reservations can be made up to six months in advance of the month you intend to camp. To secure a camp booking payment must be made within seven days of the booking. Ring Parksline for details and cost. All campsites have basic facilities such as vault toilets and tap water. You need your own tent and cooking equipment. Open fires are not permitted. Camping is for a maximum of seven nights per stay. NO DOGS ALLOWED
